Robert “Green” Horsley is a former Wide Receiver for the NCCU Eagles Football Team. Robert was red shirted in 1982 and played the starting lineup from 1983 – 1986. During his tenure at NCCU, Robert was named “1st team All CIAA” in 1984, 1985, and 1986. Robert graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. Robert is currently an Account Manager for Intergraph Corporation and is an active member of the NCCU Alumni Association and his passion for the NCCU athletic program and the football team cannot be put into words.
The NCCU athletics organization shaped Robert into the Renaissance man that he is today. Robert’s integrity, loyalty, and trust are rooted in his experiences as a football player. Playing for the Eagles kept him grounded, gave him an outlet from the challenges of life, enabled him to get a college education, and enabled him to develop life-long friendships while having the time of his life. And for that, Robert is eternally grateful. So much so that in Nov 2007, Robert called together his friends, all former NCCU Eagles Football players, and challenged them to give of themselves to help sustain a program that continues to have the power to shape the outcome of the lives of young men-- the NCCU Eagles Athletics Program.
